Arboretum Team Leader

Hours of Work: Full Time (36 hours net)
Job Status: Permanent
Salary per Annum: Band BTL, £19,244 per annum
Department: HPE, Kew
Overall purpose of the job
The post assists the manager in every aspect of day to day practical management of horticultural operations in the arboretum, with the staff and resources available: for the creation of outstanding horticultural displays and natural amenity; and for improving, developing and maintaining the woody plant collections representing the level of botanical diversity specified in the corporate Collections Policy, especially those of relevance for ex situ conservation.
Essentials
• NVQ Level 3 (Amenity horticulture) or equivalent e.g. City and Guilds Stage II and 2 GCSE's or a degree
• Experience in an arboriculture discipline
• Some experience of the work of a botanic garden.
• Ability to work effectively, safely and efficiently with a small team of staff.
• PA1 and PA6
• Written and oral presentation skills, including the use of standard computer software.
• A full, clean driving license.
